Irked with the question – Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad is the students’ wing of which political party? – asked by Big B on KBCrecently, ABVP’s general secretary Umesh Dutt has demanded a public apology from the show’s producers.
ABVP strongly objected to this and wants the show to apologise for spreading wrong information about students’ organisation of India. Sunil Bansal, All India Co-organising Secretary, ABVP, told DT, “We have sent a letter to KBC team requesting them to rectify the mistake they made by asking a wrong question on their show. Unhone aise sawaal se logon ko galatmessage diya hai.
This error only questions the credibility of the game show. Not only have the showmakers asked the wrong question, they have also made the contestant win Rs 3, 20,000 by considering the reply correct. And what’s funny is that the contestant got the answer when she used her lifeline – phone a friend. Since Amitabh Bachchan is active on Twitter, people have tweeting their reactions to ensure immediate action is taken to set it right. Since the mistake happened on national TV, it would be best to rectify it on TV. We did get a call from KBC team on Wednesday and they have admitted their mistake. But what they will do is still not clear. They have asked for some time. If we don’t get a positive response from them within 7 days, then we will have to send them a legal notice demanding public apology.”
While the channel hasn’t commented on the issue, Vani Tripathi from Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha said the masses too believe this wring information to be correct. “ABVP is not the student wing of BJP. Just because many activists in BJP like Nitin Gatkari, Jaitley have been a part of ABVP during their college days, people think the organization is a part of the political party. In fact, BJP has only one youth wing Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha. ABVP has ideological coherence with RSS but in no way is the organization linked to any political party.””
Vikas Dahiya, who has been the national executive member of ABVP, said, “ABVP was formed in 1949. ABVP’s registration No. S-385/1949-50 People should be told about this. How can we let them accept wrong information about ABVP?””
Sandeep Pandy has always been a suspect leftist. His outright denunciation of the nation-state and his discomfort at Jammu-Kashmir being part of Bharat put him squarely in the company of other traitors like Prashant Bhushan. We must be beware of Asha for Education, Sandeep Pandey’s creation that will eventually create thousands of zombies like Sandeep.
Noted social activist and Magsaysay award winner Sandeep Pandey on Sunday lambasted Anna Hazare for calling Jammu and Kashmir as an integral part of India.
“Anna has been in military. If you serve in government and especially the armed forces obviously it will be difficult to overcome the feeling of nationalism”, Pandey said when asked about Anna’s statement.
“People like us who believe in Gandhian philosophy feel nationalism, caste, region or religion has divided people. Entire problem is about the concept of nation state. We have to get rid of this concept and have a world where there are no national boundaries”.
Medha Patkar, however, echoed view of Anna calling J&K as integral part of India.

“…There was no breach of any of the conditions, action of Delhi Police was an act of Criminal Intimidation, it was a show of Criminal Force. Men, women and children were sleeping; Delhi Police own affidavit says that Baba Ramdev himself was sleeping. This crowd went to sleep after the Shanti Paath and they had nothing to do with the traffic. Whoever woke them up is guilty of culpable homicide of the poor lady Rajbala who lost her life.Look at the shamelessness, the records show that the people were injured due to stampede and they did not have Lathis, these are monstrous lies…” argued Jethmalani.
Refuting the claims of Delhi Police that Ramdev followers had brought bricks at the venue, Jethmalani said that the bricks were brought for constructions of temporary toilets at the venue. “…the guardians of law who entered to restore the law and order were seen trowing showers of bricks on the Kutia (कुटिया ) of Baba Ramdev. They called us unlawful assembly but in this case, it was the police which formed unlawful assembly…” argued Jethmalani.
Attacking the order under Section 144 of CrPC, Jethmalani came down heavily on the language of the order. Tearing apart the contents of the order which suggested that some people or groups wanted to disturb the peace and tranquility in the area, Jethmalani argued, “…you are bound to tell under section 144 the facts, you cant just say there are “some” people who are going to create disturbance. In a way, the followers of Ramdev would have thought that they are the ones who are going to be attacked. Suggesting the entire area as a communally sensitive area is a slur on the Muslim population there…”
Concluding his arguments for the day, Jethmalani informed the bench that the police was required to give adequate notice to people before resorting to any action and if the people did not cooperate only then the police could have taken any action. The court posted the matter for further hearing for 4th November.
When will politicians learn hat making deals with the terrorists never pays? Bharat (India) did same thing after Kandhar hijacking and one of the released terrorists was the mastermind behind 911. Israel has signed its own death warrant by releasing 477 convicted terrorists.

That Gilad Schalit has been released after five years of captivity by Hamas brings joy to anyone who watches the Israeli soldier’s reunion with his parents and the ecstatic welcome he received by his countrymen. It also reminds one of the Israel Defense Forces’ noble purpose in doing all it can to stand by its men.
But joy is tempered by the bitter realities of statecraft. First, the trade of one Israeli soldier for 1,027 Arabs, 477 of them convicted terrorists, offers huge incentives for the capture of more Israeli soldiers. Second, the trade releases hundreds of terrorists to their freedom, where they can resume their evil ways, targeting not just Israelis but civilized peoples everywhere.
This exchange points to the sentimentalization of strategy. Leaders who place the concerns of one individual over the interests of the country betray their mandate and poison its future. Israeli politicians have been making these lopsided swaps since 1982; over ten thousand Palestinians serving prison sentences for terrorist or other hostile actions. Each time they do, they forsake principle and common sense for short-term benefits. Shame on them.
