History in the Making- on the Campaign Trail, from USA to India- 6
I spent three days (April 22 to 24) campaigning in Junagadh district and covered Junagadh, Visavadar and Bhesan talukas. I also spent half a day in Mendarada taluka, which is part of Porbandar district. I was aided by GIBV (Global Indians for Bharat Vikas) team on ground led by one Dhirubhai Savaliya.
These are the villages I had a chance to visit and talk with people.
Visavadar Taluka: Dadar, Miya Vadia, Juni Chavand, Leriya, Monapari Nani
Junagadh Taluka: Ambaliya, Baliyavad, Bilkha, Chokli, Goladhar, Jhalansar, Kathrota, Majevadi, Makhiyala, Nawa Pipaliya, Patrapsar, Sukhpur, Vadal, Vadasimdi
Bhesan Taluka: Bhesan, Mendpara, Parab Vavdi, Ranpur
Mendarda Taluka: Khadpipli, Mithapur, Thana Pipali, Vasapada
A typical day would start around 9:30 AM and end at 8:30 PM. We would pile in a rented car (no party funds) and travel to various villages. This wasn’t a door-to-door campaign but more of meeting with village head or influential persons in the village. They would have good assessment of how the village would vote. I had different people traveling with me every day, some being common. The number in our party would be as low as three and as high as seven. On of them was an Ayurvedic doctor, one was a Naturopathy doctor and one was a lawyer. All of these were Patels and involved with farming.
One day Ukabhai Patlodia, president of Junagadh District Bharatiya Kishan Sangh, accompanied us. I could see that he commanded total respect wherever we went. It was almost as if his was God’s word. Other day, I had Ravinbhai Dudhatra, the Naturopathy doctor who knew each and everyone in villages that we visited in Mendarda Taluka. It was clear to me that all these volunteers had spent years cultivating relations with these villages through their association with Vishwa Hindu Parishad, BJP, RSS and/or Gau Raksha movement. One cannot help but appreciate ground level work of RSS.
Wherever we went, we were received with warmth except at couple of places to which I will come later. I had observed strict rule of not eating any solid food during the daytime while campaigning to preserve my health (at least up until May 10th, last day of campaigning) but I could not refuse offer of cold drinks like water, lemon-water, sherbet, (I don’t take tea or coffee) etc., and villagers in Saurashtra (western Gujarat) are known for their hospitality. Besides, heat was scorching. Highest temperature on a given day would be around 102-105 f. degrees. In three days I drank liquid that I would drink in a month at home!
We met with sarpanchs, farmers’ leaders, business leaders, etc. and also visited a couple of election offices of BJP.
Here are my observations: The election on Junagadh seat is fought on caste lines and unfortunately this is true in all of Gujarat. In Junagadh, voters we met with were predominantly Leua Patels (Keshubhai Patel’s caste). BJP candidate is Rajesh Chudasama a Koli Patel who is a sitting MLA. Congress candidate, Punjabhai Vansh is also a Koli Patel who is a senior MLA with good record. Koli Patels are evenly divided in supporting either candidate.
Problem for BJP is the by-election to Visavadar MLA’s seat. Keshubhai has vacated it for his son, Bharat Patel (a price he extracted from Modiji to merge his failed GPP party with BJP). Farmers are vociferously opposed to Bharat Patel because they feel that those who have toiled for years are marginalized and a rank outsider, known for his corrupt ways has been foisted upon them. Add to this the fact that the Congress candidate, Harshadbhai for Visavadar MLA seat has been known to take care of the day to day problems of the farmers. We repeatedly heard in the Visavadar Taluka villages a question- “how can we not vote for Harshadbhai?” Another fear the villages have is that, Keshubhai didn’t do much for them in his 15 years career, including being a C. M. and now they would be stuck with Bharat Patel for another 15 years.
BJP has to confront the reality that these farmers, who are eager to vote for the Congress candidate at MLA level, would likely also push the Congress button for M. P. candidate too. This would harm Mr. Chudasma, unless he covers enough ground in other talukas where there is no by-election. Our job was cut out. We had to explain to them the importance of keeping eye on the top prize, that is to make Narendra Modi the P.M., which would be possible only of they consciously voted for BJP candidate at national level. It was at least good to see that practically everyone we met had high praise for Modiji and wanted to see him win.
It is clear that though this is the national election, average villager is looking only at his local problem and day to day issues that he has to grapple with.
Another thing I noticed was that these villages would vote en-bloc for a chosen candidate and most likely they would listen to the village head or any other influential leader. Except for villages in Visavadar Taluka, there was resounding vote for Modiji.

Mendarda Taluka falls in Porbandar district where the BJP candidate is Vitthalbhai Radadia, another Leua Patel. He has a checkered history. He started with BJP, went over to two other parties before moving on to Congress and then coming back to BJP in 2013. He is a powerful leader who has always managed to win. His victory is a foregone conclusion. We met with his followers, who are essentially Congress people. They told me that at local level elections, they would vote for Congress but for this election, they will vote for BJP. When I questioned their rationale, answer was simple- we will do anything for Vitthalbhai! You can see that the election is fought not on party affiliation but on personalities and castes. It is a very scary proposition for the health of Indian democracy. Worst is the fact that this Vitthalbhai is nothing short of a muscleman (Bahubali); he became infamous in 2012 (when he was in Congress) for brandishing guns with his goons at a Gujarat tollbooth when he was asked to pay the toll. May God save India from such goons, regardless of the party they belong too. (You may note that he is not the only candidate with such antecedents.)
In a village called Khadpipli, we met with well to do farmers who are known to be scrupulously honest and against corruption. They had nothing but praise for Modiji.
Now I come to two experiences that were eye opener. We were at one village at the fag end of the day. We set on charpais and chairs and the local person started talking about election. The host, a man of may be 30-35 years, immediately retorted- if you have come here to talk about Kishan Sangh, then you are most welcome, but if you have come here to talk about politics, you are not welcome. Sensing his anger, we turned around the subject. I asked him as to what bothered him. A litany of issues came out like a torrent. He also had a colleague, a RSS trained young degreed engineer who put the grievances more sophisticatedly. Three issues stood out.
(1)Forest department’s continuous harassment.- whenever an animal dies in a farm, the farmer is taken into custody, even if the animal has died of natural causes. A few moths back a lion had died and the farmers were arrested by the police and beaten mercilessly. No political leader of BJP came to their rescue.
(2)GEB enforces new rule of Gujarat Government vehemently where one farm can only get one meter up to 10KWh. Farmers who have large holdings and need 30 kwh or more cannot get it, even if they are ready to pay extra for meters. This is a sore point.
(3)Elected members do not care to show their faces or listen to the villagers, once they have gone to Gandhinagar. I was told by the engineer, Bharat Savaliya that they had gone to Gandhinagar for a representation and their MLA, who was very much in office there lied and told them that he was out of town. They did catch him red-handed when he emerged from his office.
At a village in Junagadh Taluka, Patrapsar, we had another experience though for different reason. We were supposed to meet this person who had a shop in small village square. He and a few others came out, received us and offered cold drinks. When we talked about our mission, they told us that no one from the party (BJP) had visited them so far. The candidate, i.e., Bharat Patel had come to the next village but did not have time/courtesy to visit them. They had to listen to taunts from the opposition party because the party did not even send them any publicity material. They were quite agitated and it took us a while to calm them down.
Apart from these incidences, which are the real barometer, it was smooth sailing. To my surprise, fact that someone from USA had come to meet them created a big and positive impression everywhere. Youth were quite enthused for Modiji.
All in all, BJP will win but we should not be under the illusion that it will be a cakewalk. Positive part is that those who are bothered with local issues also understand importance of a Modi win and most likely will vote strategically.
P.S.: I had taken a non-AC train from Amdavad to Junagadh to be with the “common man”. It was a good experience. Person seating next to me was a well educated (Master’s level) and had decided to takeover his father’s business of barbershop rather than working for someone else. He had a lot of negative feelings for things around, but was positive that Modiji would win. He was proud of the fact that the actor Paresh Rawal, who is a BJP candidate from Amdavad, East had called him home for his services. Another person sitting next to me was an aged Sunni Muslim who was in charge of a mosque in the town of Wankaner. He was quite sober and while he did not outright endorse Modiji, he gave indication that people should vote for their betterment. There was also another Muslim couple sitting across from me with their two teenage sons. This guy was a “rekadi wala”, meaning pushcart hawker. I was talking with his wife and the elder son who was in 10th. I told him about Modiji’s idea of having Quran in one hand and computer in another. The message was received without any apparent hesitation.
Lastly, the religious head of the Muslim Bohra community, whom they consider almost as God was traveling by another train so at every medium to big size station, there were the followers (they are Shia and were Brahmins before forced conversion) by hundreds. They were decked in their best attire, old, young, man, woman, children- all – and it looked like a big festival. They had erected makeshift podium on those stations. I was told that the Dharmaguru’s train was running late by hours, as he had to stop at all these stations to speak for a few minutes.
I must end this report with heartfelt thanks to Global Indians for Bharat Vikas (GIBV), Amdavad office for making arrangements for my campaign and also to all individual volunteers in Junagadh who were diligent, knowledgeable, persuasive, accommodating and pleasant company.
My next report will be a brief one on my tour of Rajkot for a day and a half. That may come from Varanasi and my USA GIBV colleague Girishhbai Gandhi and I will be flying early tomorrow to Varanasi to campaign there, in Amethi (BJP’s Smrriti Irani is contesting against Rahul Gandhi) and in Azamgadh (S.P.’s Mulayam Singh is contesting from there.)
Polls 2013 – And The Losers Are…
Though this letter was written before 2009 elections, it is equally relevant for state elections and 2014 national election. It applies equally to all political parties except the BJP. If we ever want to get rid of Congress, we must start circulating contents of such articles to a wider audience and start a debate to expose pseudo-secularism.
I am not for giving pilgrimage subsidies to Hindus to offset pilgrimage subsidies to Muslims and Christians. I believe, no one should get any help for religious undertakings from the Government. A truly secular government should not be in the business of supporting or enticing followers of a particular religion. I wish the governments would use a fraction of such largess to improve the infrastructure and cleanliness at all major religious places in Bharat, irrespective of the faith they represent.
An Open Letter to Chiranjeevi , Praja Rajyam Party
Dear Dr Chiranjivi,
Sub: Your promises to the 71st Conference of the Bible Mission of Andhra Pradesh near Guntur in January 2009 Not a few but many intelligent and true citizens of secular India are stunned by what you promised to the Christians assembled there.
1 First let me refer to what your party office is displaying. One of the photos is of Mother Teresa. I wonder how much you know by your own effort, through published literature and a BBC TV show (“Hell’s Angel” is a 1994 BBC television documentary about Mother Theresa by Christopher Hitchens ) on Mother Teresa or whether you are accepting the propaganda. I request you especially since you aspire to be Chief Minister of the state and leader of our people, to read the book on Mother Teresa by Arup Chatterjee, “The Final Verdict” available on
2 Mother Teresa has not only accepted money from criminals, narcotics dealers, smugglers but even wrote to the Governor of a State in the USA to show leniency to a person who was convicted for serious crimes. Her plea was that he donated money to her cause. Suppose the fake stamp printer, Telgi of Rs.35000 cr scam donates money to your Party, would you first accept it and second, tell the public that he is a good man as he donated for a good cause and so, he should be treated leniently ? I urge upon you to remove that photo and to convince yourself, please read the book and also see the BBC TV show which exposed her frauds.
3 You have stated that you attended the conference of the Bible Mission because of your faith in Jesus Christ. This is of course the common naivety of every Hindu because when we accept thousands of people as gods and goddesses and divine, one more could also be accepted, as god’s son, born immaculately to a virgin, Mary. Have you ever asked a Christian or Muslim whether he would in a reciprocal manner, say he has faith in Lord Vishnu or Lord Shiva or Sri Rama? Every Hindu can sincerely and passionately say Easwar Allah tere naam.
4 Have you ever asked a Muslim to say that? I have asked Muslims who were my interlocutors in several public meetings to tell this, just as I said and whether they would repeat it. None of them repeated. I would not question your faith in Christ but I request you to introspect within yourself whether your faith is not misplaced as we do not have a reciprocal affirmation from non-Hindus; that is, Christians and Muslims.
5 You promised to the conference of Christians the continuation of and extension and intensification of state-funding for Christians’ pilgrimage to Jerusalem. We are a ‘secular’ state. There is not a single ‘secular’ state in the world which uses the tax monies of people to fund or subsidise religious pilgrimage of its citizens. Not a single one of the more than 40 Muslim countries in the world funds or subsidises the pilgrimages of its Muslim citizens to Mecca. It is only the ‘secular’ and peculiar state of India that subsidises Muslims’ pilgrimage to Mecca at Rs.35000 per person, increasing annually, costing an amount of over Rs 400 cr in 2008 and increasing every year. It may be of interest to you to know that the Bill to this effect was moved by the so called “secularist” and “socialist” great man, Jawaharlal Nehru himself.
6 As nowhere else in this country or anywhere in the world, the Christian Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy of this state has started funding Christians’ pilgrimage to Jerusalem from the coffers of the ‘secular’ state of Andhra Pradesh. This is subversion of our Constitution. Not a single Hindu Minister in his Cabinet had the honor, much less courage to demand that like Muslims and Christians, Hindus forming 85% of the state’s population and contributing 95% of the tax revenues to the government be also subsidised for their pilgrimages to Manasarover,Amaranth, Kasi, Prayaga, Mathura, Ayodhya, Vashno Devi, Simhachalam, Tirupati, Sabarimalai etc. Not a single MLA or MLC of AP has condemned this anti-secular, anti-Hindu measure of the GOAP.
7 Surprisingly, you have promised to the Christians that your party would continue this type of subsidies for religious pilgrimages of Christians. It did not occur to you to say that it is wrong for a ‘secular’ state to do so. Not even that; you did not invoke the principle that a ‘secular’ state should treat all religions alike; you do not say that Hindus pilgrimages would also be subsidised. This makes us to suspect that you and your party, like all the so-called ‘secular’ parties, are engaged in appeasement of minorities in the fond hope of getting their votes. This is reprehensible for a leader and a party which is espousing CHANGE, as the war slogan of the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP).
8 You have also promised to these Christians that the reservations meant for Hindu SCs would be extended to the dalits in Christianity. I am sure you are not ignorant about the claims of Christianity that in it, there is no caste and no untouchability and that all are equal according to the Christian creed. It is by propagandizing this tenet of Christianity that missionaries and evangelists and churches are luring SC Hindus to convert to Christianity. Christianity is hundreds of years old in this country; yet it is practising discrimination against the Hindu SCs who are converted to Christianity. Are you aware that out of over 300 Bishops just only one or two are from the so-called dalit Christians whereas they constitute more than 80% of Christians in India? It is the Brahmin, Reddy, Kamma and such upper caste converts to Christianity that are Bishops. Church organizations, Christian-managed educational and medical institutions do not provide reservations for dalit Christians. Why should secular governments do so?
9 You must be aware that in South Africa, the white European-descent Christian rulers practised untouchability against the black Africans converted to Christianity until the year 1994. White European Christians exterminated 40 million indigenous people in Americas. White Christians traded in slaves and held slaves. The American civil war was fought on the issue of abolition of slavery. Abolition of slavery was proclaimed over 150 years ago, untouchability and segregation against the black Afro- Americans were practiced by the white Christians in the USA till the 1960s. Even today, Afro-American Blacks have their churches separate from the churches of the white European origin Christians.
10 Christianity is thus a great fraud in saying that there is no untouchability or discrimination against low-class, low-caste converts like Hindu SCs or black Africans or Afro-Americans. To such fraudster Christianity, you are promising that reservations meant for Hindu SCs would be extended to converts. It would mean encouragement of Hindu SCs and others to convert to Christianity! Do you please realize this? Is it not an anti-Hindu position?
11 90% of the government servants who have got their jobs in reservation quota by declaring themselves as Hindu SCs are in fact practising Christians-. After retirement Stanley Babu, of South Central Railways, Sri Danam retired IAS officer etc., are examples. One William, an SC Christian is Chairman of the AP State SC/ST Finance Corporation. What do Hindus owe to them, to such fraudster Christianity in Andhra Pradesh that you are promising to help? Should not 85% of voters who are Hindus deem your promise as an anti-Hindu stand? Do you know that Dr B R Ambedkar, whose photo you are exhibiting along with Mother Teresa, told his people not to convert to Christianity as the moment they do so, they cease to be Indians; they get denationlised ? Dr B R Ambedkar also told SCs that they should not convert to Islam either as the brotherhood in that religion is confined to Muslims and the rest are all kafirs, fit to converted or killed. Mahatma Gandhi, whom hundreds of millions of Indians revere, answering a pointed question by missionaries before Independence said, that ‘if I had the power I would, after India gained Independence , send out all the missionaries from the country. He held conversion as the greatest violence, involving utmost fraud. This is what Christian missionaries and Christian organisations in Andhra Pradesh are engaged in and to them you are promising subsidised pilgrimage and extension of reservations for Hindu dalits converted to Christianity. This is a blatant, in fact, a competitive exercise to appease minorities.
12 I appeal to you not to compete with fraudsters, vote gatherers and traitors to Hinduism in making promises to Christians and Muslims in the hope of getting their votes. Have you promised to Hindus what you promise to Christians (and Muslims)? Do you know that the so called minority colleges sell 70% of their seats to Hindus and they don’t give them all to minority students?
13 Finally, I request you to read the enclosed articles and booklets which bear upon the great assault that Hindus and India are being subjected to by the evil quartet of Marxists, Muslims, Missionaries and Macaulayans (i.e., English medium educated persons, who are only in colour and blood Indian, but in culture, belief, tastes, view of India,un-Indian, western, now-a-days, American), resident non-Indians (RNIs) all.
14 You are constantly talking of Change I suggest to you that the Change should be to move away from corruption, anti-Hinduism, diversion of Hindus’ funds and tax monies by a ‘secular’ state to Muslims and to Christians. This nation and our people owe nothing to Muslims or Christians. The former had been the ruthless anti-Hindu rulers in several parts of the country for several centuries, looting and humiliating Hindus. The latter had been collaborators with the British rule, bringing into India unIndian, anti-Hindu faiths and beliefs and religious intolerance. Your party and you which are repeatedly using the phrase change should discard the colonized mindset and cultivate and promote Indian mindset of Sanatana Dharma, that is Hindu and Bharat.
Unconquerable Ayodhya, the kingdom of Kosal
By: Bharat Itihaas
The description of Ayodhya in Ramayan is beautifully tendered into verse by Mr. Griffiths, who was the Principal of the Banaras College in the late 19th century. He writes, “Her ample streets were nobly planned and streams of water flowed to keep the fragrant blossoms fresh, that strewed her royal road. There many a princely palace stood in line on level ground. Her temple and triumphal arc and rampart banner crowned. There golden turrets rose on high above the waving green of mango groves and blooming trees and flowery knots between. On battlement and gilded spire, the pennon streamed in state, and warders with the ready bow kept watch at every gate.”
The kingdom of Kosal was ruled by King Dashrath who is believed to be 56th descendents from Manu. His 3 wives Kaushalya, Sumitra and Kaikeyi lived intheir respective palaces. Shri Ram was born at the Kaushalya’s temple, which is now termed as the Ram-janmbhoomi.
In the Brahmaand Puraan, Ayodhya is described as holiest of the 6 holy cities. Maharshi Vyaas refers to the story of Ram in the Vanopakhyaan of Mahabharat. Thus the city of Ayodhya and Shri Ram have been held in veneration by the residents of this land for centuries. Almost 200 years after Alexandar, during Mauryan rule, when Buddhism was flourishing, came the Greek King Minander. He embraced Buddhism and pretended to be a monk. He invaded Ayodhya and destroyed the temple on the Janmsthaan site. Soon he was defeated and killed in the battle by Raja Dhyumatsen of the Shrung Vansh, and Ayodhya was liberated.
The janmsthaan temple was reconstructed by King Vikramaditya. History knows of 6 different Vikramadityas. Historians have different opinions of which of them constructed the temple. Some say it was Vikramaditya of Ujjain who defeated the Shakas in 56 BC and after whom the Vikram Samvat is named. Others attribute the re-construction to Skandgupt who also called himself Vikramaditya and built the temple in late 5th Century AD. However, it is generally accepted as P Carnegie mentions in his Historical Sketch of Faizabad that Vikramaditya’s main clue in tracing the ancient city where the river Saryu and the shrine still known as Nageshwar Nath, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is also generally accepted that Vikramaditya constructed about 360 temples in and around Ayodhya. The tradition of veneration to Shri Ram has continued in the Hindu society in one form or another. The earliest known inscription to testify this fact is the Nasik cave inscription during the Satvahan dynasty. The celebrated Sanskrit dramatician Bhaas identifies Shri Ram with his Archanavataar.
Evolution of the tradition of worship of Shri Ram as an incarnation of Vishnu is evident in the early Rama-shrine inscriptions. The 4th century inscriptions at Ramtek (Madhya Pradesh), the 423 AD inscription at Kandhar (Afghanistan), the Chalukya inscriptions in 533 AD at Badami, the Mamallapuram inscriptions in the 8th century AD, Amba Maata temple near Jodhpur in 11th century AD, Ram temple at Mukundpur (Rewa, MP) in 1145 AD, Hansi inscriptions in 1168 AD, Rajiv Lochan Temple at Rajim in Raipur (Chhatisgarh) are some of them.
In 12th century, at least 5 temples existed in Ayodhya. They were, Guptahari at Gopratar-ghaat, Chadrahari at Swarga dwaar Ghaat, Vishnu hari at Chkrateerth Ghaat, Dharmahari at Swarga-dwaar Ghaat, and Vishnu temple, on what is known as the Janmbhoomi site.
Mehmood Gaznabi looted and destroyed the temple of Somnath and went back. His nephew Salar Masood advanced in the direction of Ayodhya. On 14th June 1033, Masood reached Behraich, 40 km from Ayodhya. The people united under the leadership of Raja Sohail Dev. Sohail Dev’s army attacked Masood, defeated his army and killed Masoon himself. Abdul Rahman Chishti writes in the biography of Masood, titled, “Meerat-e-Masoodi”.
“.. maut ka saamana hai, firaaq soori nazdeek hai, hinduon ne jamaav kiya hai, inka lashkar beintahaa hai, sudoor nepal se pahaadon ke neeche ghaghara tak fauz mukhalik ka padaav hai. Masood ki maut ke baad ajmer se Muzaffar Khan turant aaya par wah bhi maar diya gaya .. Arab Iraan ke har ghar ka chirag bujha hai ..”
(It is trial with death, but the destination is near. Hindus have deployed armies in huge number from faraway Nepal’s mountains to the basin of Ghaghra river, there armies stand. After the death of Masood, Muzaffar Khan came from Ajmer but he too was killed. Every house of Arab and Iran has lost a son in this battle.)

Hanging out with NaMo late into Friday night — Kanchan Gupta
It’s this insight that has made him look at Gujarat with a critical eye and come up with the assessment that Government works in this State because of the quality of leadership at the helm. His initial interest was limited to checking out Gujarat as an investment destination, but while doing that he realised what makes the State different from others. And from there began an engagement between him and Gujarat which resulted in Friday night’s Google+ Hangout with Chief Minister Narendra Modi that will be talked about and remembered for a long time for multiple reasons ranging from the Internet highway getting jammed by the traffic of millions of people trying to log in for the show (it’s a miracle that YouTube weathered the unexpected turnout so well) to the stunningly candid manner in which a popular leader spoke to young Indians at home and abroad (it’s amazing that a man who is demonised by our biased media as an arrogant, uncaring politician is, in real life, a caring and inspiring leader).

Kick out Congress.” Not all of the chants were in English, but did manage to catch “Say NO to Sharia Law” There was also a “Charge Sheet against the Congress Govt. of India” that was handed out to the passersby. The organizers were The Indian American Intellectuals Forum; Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America; Hindu Human Rights Watch and Indian Heritage Foundation of Lansing, Michigan. There was very small rally in opposition to this rally that was supporting the Indian Congress.

“Save the Tribal Indians. Save the Hindus”. Kick out Congress.”
The organizers were The Indian American Intellectuals Forum; Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America; Hindu Human Rights Watch and Indian Heritage Foundation of Lansing, Michigan.
A very small rally in opposition was supporting the Indian Congress. An anti-Hindu counter-protest preaching ‘peace’ by forming an alliance with the “Religion of Peace”… aka Islam… and ignoring the victims cries for help.
But, the Hindu victims are NOT being ignored as these signs made very clear.
“HUMAN RIGHTS FOR ALL! NO TO SHARIA LAW in US OR INDIA!”

subject: REPORT ON PROTEST IN NEW YORK ON SEPTEMBER 2ND NEAR INDIAN CONSULATE AGAINST ISL
A boisterous Protest by 100 strong Indian American Hindus was organized by Indian American Intellectuals Forum in New York September 2nd near Indian Consulate to express their repugnance and revulsion against burning of Hindu villages by Bangladeshi Muslims in collusion with Muslims from Assam and West Bengal and making thousands of Hindus (Bodos) refugees in their own country.
The Protesters said that India is in danger. After Kashmir Radical Islam is taking over Assam in the North East. Jihad is spreading far and wide.
The Protesters also expressed their abhorrence at the inaction and apathy on the part of Government of India in handling the riots in Mumbai by 50,000 Muslims, who, armed with petrol cans and plastic bottles, hockey sticks, iron rods, damaged the police vans, stole their guns and ammunition, injured more than 50 policemen, molested the policewomen, burnt the City’s transport system, smashed journalists’ TV cameras, vandalized War Memorial and held the entire Mumbai City to ransom, in the broad day light.
The Protesters held responsible the ruling Congress Government of India for not taking stern action against Kashmiri Muslim militants who fought pitched battles with India’s security forces in the month of Ramadan, chopped of one Hindu teacher’s hand in Rajasthan, killed one Hindu boy in Kerala, attacked TV journalists in Lucknow, did not allow Hindus to celebrate the Birth Day of Lord Krishana (Janamashthami) in Ranchi, and in cooperation with Pakistani Muslims sent thousands of SMS messages to North East residents in Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad and threatened them to leave these cities otherwise they would be killed.
Instead of punishing the perpetrators of the above mentioned crimes, Congress Government banned Hindu websites, facebook and twitter.
The Protesters also blamed the Congress Party of Sonia Gandhi for taking income from Hindu temples and giving it to Muslims to build mosques, run Madrassas and go to Mecca for Haj.
Every month 20-25 Hindu girls are abducted by Muslims, forcibly converted to Islam and married to Muslim men. The Congress Government is doing nothing to ameliorate the miserable plight of these unfortunate girls.
Half a million Kashmiri Hindus have been ethnically cleansed from the Kashmir Valley, but the Government of India is taking no action to resettle them back in the Valley.
Infiltration by Bangladeshi Muslims tantamount to an invasion of India by foreigners sponsored by Congress Party, Communist Party and supported by Jihadists in Assam and West Bengal. The aim of this insidious design is to keep Congress in power and help Muslims to Islamize India.
Mr. Tathagata Roy, an erudite scholar and former Prof. of Engineering and former President of BJP, West Bengal who was on a visit to New York was surprised to see so many Hindus protesting against Islamization of Assam and appreciated their vigor and vitality.
The Protest was supported by Mr. Gaurang Vaishanav of Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America, Mr. Satya Dosapati of Hindu Human Rights Watch, Dr. Kumar Arun of India Heritage Foundation, Lansing, Michigan and Panun Kashmir International. The unique feature of this Protest was that it was supported by non-Hindu American groups such as “Stop Islamization of America” of Pamela Geller, “Human Rights Coalition Against Radical Islam” of Dr. Marvin Belsky, “The United West” of Mr. Stuard Kaufman,LogansWarning@hotmail.com and several other groups.

18/10/2011 14:21:16 Daily Pioneer – Kochi
The Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Kochi on Tuesday ordered deportation of US evangelist William Arthur Lee for holding religious preaching sessions in the name of musical programmes in Kerala in violation of visa norms. The police said Lee could be deported on Wednesday itself.
The court also sentenced him to three days’ imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs 10,000. Lee, who had gone into hiding on the night of October 12 during a police inspection at the venue of his religious programme in Kochi, was arrested on Friday night from a five-star hotel. The court had on Saturday remanded him in custody till Tuesday.
After the court issued the verdict, Lee, who had entered India on September 21 on a tourist visa that was valid till March 20, 2012, was handed over to the Sub-Inspector of the Palarivattom police station in Kochi. Police sources said the US pastor could be deported on Wednesday itself once the District Collector completed the formalities.
Lee was arrested over 48 hours after he went missing from the venue of Musical Splash 2011, a religious propagation programme organized as a musical event at Jawaharlal International Stadium in Kaloor, Kochi on October 12. He had gone into hiding when the police reached the venue to ask him to leave the country immediately.
Lee, who had gone missing along with evangelist-musician Ron Kenoly and a woman associate, was blacklisted after the October 12 incident. The police had issued lookout notices for his detention to all airports in the country. They had also been searching for the leaders of Faith Leaders Church of God, who had brought them to Kerala and had organized the event.
The police had tried to detain Lee and to deport him back to the US on the basis of Intelligence reports that he and his associates, who had come to India on tourist visas, were indulging in evangelical activities in various parts of the State.
Intelligence officials had learned that William Lee had held musical conventions for religious propagation at Kunnamkulam in Thrissur district on October 7, 8 and 9. Like other Faith Leaders programmes, Musical Splash 2011 in Kochi was planned as a three-day event to popularize their school of Christianity through “Gospel Music Pageantry”.

“…There was no breach of any of the conditions, action of Delhi Police was an act of Criminal Intimidation, it was a show of Criminal Force. Men, women and children were sleeping; Delhi Police own affidavit says that Baba Ramdev himself was sleeping. This crowd went to sleep after the Shanti Paath and they had nothing to do with the traffic. Whoever woke them up is guilty of culpable homicide of the poor lady Rajbala who lost her life.Look at the shamelessness, the records show that the people were injured due to stampede and they did not have Lathis, these are monstrous lies…” argued Jethmalani.
Refuting the claims of Delhi Police that Ramdev followers had brought bricks at the venue, Jethmalani said that the bricks were brought for constructions of temporary toilets at the venue. “…the guardians of law who entered to restore the law and order were seen trowing showers of bricks on the Kutia (कुटिया ) of Baba Ramdev. They called us unlawful assembly but in this case, it was the police which formed unlawful assembly…” argued Jethmalani.
Attacking the order under Section 144 of CrPC, Jethmalani came down heavily on the language of the order. Tearing apart the contents of the order which suggested that some people or groups wanted to disturb the peace and tranquility in the area, Jethmalani argued, “…you are bound to tell under section 144 the facts, you cant just say there are “some” people who are going to create disturbance. In a way, the followers of Ramdev would have thought that they are the ones who are going to be attacked. Suggesting the entire area as a communally sensitive area is a slur on the Muslim population there…”
Concluding his arguments for the day, Jethmalani informed the bench that the police was required to give adequate notice to people before resorting to any action and if the people did not cooperate only then the police could have taken any action. The court posted the matter for further hearing for 4th November.
