PAKISTAN NAWAZ

In anticipation of the visit to Washington by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, scheduled for October 21-23, Pakistan’s public relations machinery has gone into over-drive to build expectations of a new partnership between Pakistan and the United States. Americans are expected to overlook everything that has happened in the past — from the notorious Dr A.Q. Khan’s nuclear proliferation to support for the Afghan Taliban to the discovery of Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad — and embrace this ‘important, valuable and strategic ally’ of the United States.

A recent piece on the Forbes website, titled “Pakistan-U.S. Nuclear Weapons Talks May Lower Chance Of Nuclear War With India” argues that Pakistan should be given a civil nuclear deal similar to the one given to India in 2005. The article builds upon a Washington Post column by David Ignatius who sought to remind Americans that they cannot afford to forget Afghanistan and Pakistan and in the process hinted at a civil nuclear deal, much coveted by Islamabad, as a means of winning over the trust of Pakistan.

The Ignatius piece was clearly an attempt to reignite interest in Pakistan at a time when Washington appears almost to have forgotten the nuclear-armed country where US marines located and killed Osama bin Laden only four years ago. But the Forbes article went farther in painting Pakistan as a victim of American foreign policy amnesia and was written by a University of Baltimore Professor, Charles Tiefer, who is not exactly known for direct expertise on South Asian affairs.

Forbes.com allows contributors to write and post directly on the website, which is whyan expert in government contracts, as Prof. Tiefer is described on the University of Baltimore website, could indulge his love for Pakistan without editorial scrutiny. In the last five months, Forbes.com has had four articles on Pakistan and all of them have been positively disposed -almost to the point of being puff pieces. That is absolutely the opposite of how other media outlets have been reporting on Pakistan for a while.

An earlier Forbes piece by Tiefer, in 2015 titled ‘Today’s India-Pakistan Armed Tensions – Will New U.S. Military and Nuclear Aid to Modi Inflame Them?‘ argued that the United States should not see India as a counterweight to China as that would “inflame India-Pakistan armed tensions.” Had the professor known as an expert in government contracts argued that it would be bad for U.S. government contracts, at least he would have been simply making a wrong argument about his own subject. In this instance, he only revealed his ignorance of the history of U.S.-Pakistan and U.S.-India relations.

The Americans provided Pakistan with weapons to fight communism from the 1950s to the 1980s. The Reagan administration hoped a militarily strong Pakistan would feel sufficiently secure to keep its promise of not building nuclear weapons. Instead, Pakistan used American weaponry to initiate wars against India in 1965, 1971, and 1999, failing to win any of them and running back to the US to ask for more assistance. Pakistan’s covert war against India continues unabated.

Since 9/11, Pakistan has received $23 billion in civilian and military assistance ostensibly to fight terrorists while the US State Department remains unable to certify to Congress that it is, in fact, acting against all terrorist groups operating from Pakistan’s soil. Unlike Pakistan, the US has no complaints against India of harboring global Jihadi terrorists or of exporting nuclear material to third countries. India’s bilateral trade with the US ($50 billion in 2014) is ten times the size f Pakistan’s trade with the US ($5 billion). Still Mr. Tiefer argues that the US should not give ‘military aid’ to India to keep Pakistan on America’s side.

Ironically, India has rarely sought or received American military aid, with notable exceptions like in the aftermath of the 1962 India-China war. India is not asking for and the US is not giving India military and nuclear aid. Instead India is purchasing American defense equipment that will help American companies and provide jobs to Americans. More importantly India has never used any weapon – bought or given- through a terrorist proxy ever, even against China or Pakistan.

Moreover, no Indian military operation has ever caused the death of Americans, whereas Pakistan’s policy in Afghanistan has led to numerous American deaths, both civilian and military. Mr. Tiefer nonchalantly writes that the various Pakistan jihadi groups like Lashkar e Taiba and Haqqani network “work with Pakistan’s powerful intelligence service, ISI” but does not see that as reason for the US to shun Pakistan.

He argues that if the United States continues siding with India against China this will “antagonize Pakistan” and lead “the potentially scariest confrontation in the world.” In effect, he is saying that Pakistan’s sponsorship of jihadi groups should not come in the way of it being an American ally but the US must not ally with India because of Pakistan’s fear of India!!

The naiveté is hardly limited to the security arena. In August 2015, Forbes ran an article asking for a dramatic overhaul of US-Pakistan ties and pitching a US-Pakistan Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT). Another Forbes article attempted to sell Pakistan’s threat of going deeper into China’s embrace, changing the entire region around it, and insinuating that the United States should compete with China in currying Pakistan’s favor.

The author of the first article, titled ‘Pakistan: The Next Colombia Success Story?’ Daniel Runde, too was a novice as far as knowledge of Pakistan is concerned. Had he worked on Pakistan for any length of time he would have known that Pakistan is the only American ally that has failed to sustain significant growth or human development even after receiving more than $40 billion in US aid since 1950.

Mr. Runde should have examined why US aid to Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and even Europe under the Marshal Plan catalyzed their economies into self-sustaining growth while the largesse towards Pakistan only increased Pakistan’s dependence. The reason lies more in how Pakistan spent that money, in how its military and intelligence service view their ties with the US and in how disproportionately large the military is to the size of the country’s economy and any real threats it faces.

Mr. Runde suggests, that Pakistan suffers from “a terrible country brand.” But certain harsh realities persist and are not just a ‘branding’ problem. The politicized Pakistan army may have conducted some military operations against militants responsible for attacks inside Pakistan but the Pakistani army is still following its old policy of sparing terrorists targeting India, Afghanistan and the United States. Sartaj Aziz, advisor to Premier Sharif on National Security and foreign affairs, has openly asked, “Why should Pakistan target militants that do not threaten the country’s security?

Despite dealing with Pakistan for decades some Americans still seem to believe they can change Pakistan’s behavior by giving in to its demands or responding favorably to its PR efforts. Pakistan needs to change its militarized national mindset and is more likely to reform under fear of international isolation than in response to praise based on falsehoods. Both the U.S. and Pakistan might benefit more from recognizing the history of the relationship and correcting their course substantively instead of obsessing only about appearances.

The Moslem Conquest of India- Extract from Will & Ariel Durant’s book

Those who do not learn from history are bound to repeat it.

This is the secret of the political history of modern India. Weakened by division, it succumbed to invaders; impoverished by invaders, it lost all power of resistance, and took refuge in supernatural consolations; it argued that both mastery and slavery were superficial delusions, and concluded that freedom of the body or the nation was hardly worth defending in so brief a life. The bitter lesson that may be drawn from this tragedy is that eternal vigilance is the price of civilization. A nation must love peace, but keep its powder dry.

This is an extract from: The Moslem Conquest of India, Volume 1, Chapter 16

The Story of Civilization Our oriental Heritage by Will & Ariel Durant:

FREEDOM FROM ANTI-NATIONAL MEDIA is the theme for this year’s Independence Day on Social Media

FREEDOM FROM ANTI NATIONAL MEDIA is the theme for this year’s Independence Day on Social media. Can GIBV count on your support for this?

BOYCOTT PRESSTITUTE MEDIA

Global Indians for Bharat Vikas (GIBV)  invites you to join in boycotting Times of India, Indian Express, The Hindu, India Today, Tehelka, Outlook and other similarly biased newspapers/magazines and offending TV channels like ABP News, Aaj Tak, TimesNow, NDTV, etc.,  on this 15th August by cancelling your subscription, removing their application from your smartphone and let them know that you have cancelled your subscription (and why.)
The idea is to take a selfie with a) crushed / crumpled paper b) paper flushed down toilet c) paper burning d) torn paper e) a black tape/stripe across TV screen with the channel we are protesting against f) a garland of shoes around the channel/TV screen. Whenever and wherever we post a selfie, it should say “Selfie in support of the NATION and against #presstitutes”.

It would help immensely if all of us can make this viral in next couple of days so that on 15th August, these anti national media houses get a big message from us.

On this 15th August, let us work to achieve real freedom from anti-national, anti-majority, biased media. These are the purveyors of lies, half-truths and innuendos. These are the entities that shed tears for convicted terrorist Yakub Memon but relegate details of ex-president Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam’s funeral to inside pages since front pages are occupied  to glorify a terrorist. These are the entities with headline, “Then They Hanged Him”, signifying that the President of India, the Government of India and the highest judicial authority, the Supreme Court were  “They” ; and the newspaper  (and other paid media) were “we”,  Meaning supporters of terrorist Yakub Memon.

Together, we have the power to make a change. Let us use this 15th August to reclaim our true freedom from these anti-national media that has distorted any positive news of people’s and government’s achievements and supported those who are hell-bent on weakening India. This is the ‘paid media’ that is engaged in incessant war on the ethos of our motherland to demoralize the society and weaken the fabric of the society. We cannot progress and have all-round development of the country, until we force such business houses to mend their ways.  Let us do it together.

Please give this wide publicity on social media and in other avenues.

Happy Independence Day! Thanks for your support.

So, I am Back

So, I am back to USA after spending a little over five months in Bharat. This has been my longest stay in Bharat since I left it for USA in 1970. When I was working, my maximum stay had been 10 weeks but on average all stays were around five to six weeks.  I feel that I am no longer an NRI, but an RB (Resident Bharatiya.)

What was meant to be a four month stay got extended because of unfinished renovation work of my matushree’s house in Karnavati (that is, Amdavad.)  I was not sure, how we would fare staying in Bharat without any family support; all these years, my sister and brother in law, who live next door had taken care of all our needs and logistics and we did not have a care in the world. This time it was different. Now they also have moved to USA to stay with their children.

It was an interesting and challenging experience. Getting the phone connection re-started, selecting an Internet provider and then have it installed, getting Reliance Dongle and Vodafone reactivated, getting gas line connection for geysers, finding a milk delivery man and newspaper delivery service, everything was new to me.  Where to find groceries, where to go for a haircut, seemingly simple things were not so simple for me. But together, my wife and I persevered and made it.

Biggest challenge was to find a reliable contractor for a million rupees renovation who would complete the job in time bound fashion.  It took about two months to find one. He was good but he too, as is the wont is in our dear country, exceeded his committed time by 100%, forcing me to spend Rs. 25,000 in airline fees for extending two tickets.

Working with the contractor and his construction workers and subcontractors gave me a true picture of the work ethics (or the lack of it) that prevails.  It also demonstrated that we care a hoot for lives of the workers who toil in sever heat, often barefooted. Work safety is an alien concept here.  No hard hats, no safety shoes, no goggles, no gloves and yet these single bodied, underfed men and women continue carrying heavy load of stones, bricks and tiles on their heads up two flights of stairs.

Labor is cheap so no one bothers to use modern methods and equipment that are so common here in USA.  It was good for me to bond with these workers who are otherwise treated as second class citizens.

Going to vendors and selecting material, be it tiles or electrical fittings was an eye opening experience.  On one hand there is implicit trust, on another sheer lies told with confidence to get your business.  With the contractor in tow, a person would give thousands of rupees worth material on credit; otherwise, you better have all cash up front- yes cash, because the guy does not bother to honor debit cards, even though your purchase may be worth 50K.

It was also a different life when I had to live like a gypsy, moving from this room to that room every day depending on where the work was going to take place. One day we would eat our lunch in the kitchen and next day in a bedroom on a makeshift table.  We had to change our sleeping place frequently too. Intense dust was all pervasive and at the end of the day, when I started to sweep it as much as I could, I sorely missed my vacuum cleaner!

But this experience was worth having, notwithstanding running around in 44⁰ C (111⁰ F.) every day to take care of things.

I had limited travel this time- to Mumbai, Vadodara, Rajkot and Junagadh.  Met tons of family members and also a few friends.  Attended three weddings but sadly, also three post death rites of loved ones.

Warmth of our society is unique and I hope it stays so even with the Western wind blowing so strong.

I will write another time about my observations and feelings about future of Bharat.  Right now I have not been able to shake off my jetlag yet after three days so I sleep, wake up and eat at odd hours.  Today for the first time, I felt like sitting down and doing some constructive work like writing this post. I know that within a week, I would get immersed in life here but right now I have withdrawal symptoms. I miss that hustle and bustle, that sweltering heat, that Alphonso and Kesar mangoes, that unending noise of traffic on nearby road. Worse, it is super cold here- unusual for this time of the year. We wake up with 6⁰ C. (42⁰ F)  and temperature creeps up to 25⁰ C (75⁰ F.)  during the day. I have not ventured out yet but at least grass is greener and trees are full of leaves.   अच्छे दिन आ रहे हैं।

In America, the force was with ‘Gujju bhai’ Modi- Swapan Dasgupta in TOI

October 5, 2014, 5:55 AM IST in Right & Wrong | India | TOI

The person (or maybe the copywriter) who, in a bout of linguistic inspiration, first suggested that Narendra Modi kem cho and conquered America probably never had politics on his mind. Unfortunately, when it comes to India’s Prime Minister, politics of a sharply partisan variety is never far away. From the innocuous “may the force be with you” aside to a rock concert in New York City to the severity of his Navratri fast, almost everything Modi does is minutely dissected by an army of pundits, in a constant state of readiness for the first major lapse — something more substantial than saying ‘Mohanlal’ for ‘Mohandas’.

For the moment, Modi has given his detractors few opportunities to show him up as a desi bumpkin, totally out of his depth in the glitzy world of politics and diplomacy. Initially, when it was suggested that the Prime Minister would conduct his global diplomacy in Hindi, there were a few sniggers from those comfortable with Indian leaders speaking to the world in English, and that too in unaccented Received Pronunciation — what in Indian parlance is dubbed ‘convent English’. Unfortunately for them, this unwillingness to flaunt the Commonwealth connection was widely appreciated in India. Indeed, the fact that Modi chose to emulate Atal Bihari Vajpayee and speak to the UN General Assembly in Hindi was internalised by India as a symbol of national pride, even by those who believe that the English language has an important role to play in India.

From purposeless mutterings about insisting on Hindi when he has an adequate grasp of English to misgivings over overdoing the Gujarati bit was a short step. Unlike HD Deve Gowda, the self-professed “humble farmer” who was ridiculed as the ‘Prime Minister of Karnataka’, Modi’s regional identity hasn’t yet been projected as a political liability. Yet, Modi is unquestionably a Gujarati in the same way as President Pranab Mukherjee leaves people in little doubt that he is a Bengali. More to the point, Modi makes no attempt to conceal his Gujarati-ness. In his speeches he draws freely from his experiences as chief minister of Gujarat for 13 years and it is also likely that at home he keeps a Gujarati table. On their part, Gujaratis, whether in Ahmedabad or New Jersey, see him as one of their own — a local lad from Vadnagar made good.

Does Modi’s deep regional roots make him less of a pan-Indian leader? This certainly was the implicit suggestion of those who tried to brush off the spectacular reception he received at the Madison Square Garden rally as a made-in-Gujarat event that it clearly wasn’t.

Unconsciously or otherwise, the contrived charge of a creeping Gujarati-isation of India’s public life has a great deal to do with the ‘model’ leadership of the Nehrus and Gandhis. Jawaharlal Nehru, the man who set the tone of Indian cosmopolitanism, was a Kashmiri Pandit whose family settled in Allahabad. However, thanks to his very English upbringing, Nehru never acquired regional roots. He was undeniably an Indian, but an Indian who could never call a part of India his own. Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel were unmistakably Gujarati; Subhash Chandra Bose cut his political teeth in the Bengal Congress; and Lokmanya Tilak and Gopal Krishna Gokhale were rooted in the social churning of the Bombay Presidency.

The above-it-all cosmopolitanism that Nehru and his dynastic successors assiduously projected was an aberration and belonged to a culture of patrician rule. In their own way, the Congress’ first family sought to create an elite that saw India as an intellectual abstraction — something to be studied, understood but not identified with. Modi is a break from this tradition. He epitomises an India that is increasingly self-assured, even self-contained. His style — including sartorial preferences — and engagement with the world is much more located in an evolving India.

“You have the money, but you don’t have class,” a public personality is said to have taunted a group of Modi loyalists in New York last week. It was an arrogant remark befitting a sub-strata that feels politically and culturally dispossessed by social forces Modi has unleashed. As long as condescension defines the opposition to him, Modi has no reason to feel threatened. Entitlement is rarely able to overwhelm energy.

May 18, 2014

Global Indian for Bharat Vikas (GIBV) is very happy to congratulate Shri Narendra Modi on leading BJP and NDA a to unprecedented and historical victory in the recently concluded national elections of India.

This election has far reaching consequences for India and the world. After 30 long years, era of coalition politics has come to an end. A stable government where BJP has clear majority will be able to take critical decisions without succumbing to pressures from small regional parties with narrow interests. India has huge potential for development. It has rich natural resources and largest population of people under age 35. Shri Narendra Modi is capable of unleashing this potential and harnessing energy of the youth and employing it for all round progress.

Another salient point of this election is end of dynastic rule of Nehru-Gandhi family. Congress, led by this family forever has been reduced to a paltry 44 seats, failing the minimum threshold to qualify for leader of opposition in the Loksabha. Most of its ministers and seasoned members have lost spectacularly. Shri Modi had promised Congress Mukta Bharat and the process has begun. Congress has failed to win a single seat in seven states and has not been able to cross double digit in any state. Disintegration of Congress is now only a matter of time.

From BJP’s tally in UP and Bihar, it is clear that people have voted crossing barriers of caste and religion and in favor of development and stability. Decimation of BSP and SP in their bastion points to the beginning of the end of caste driven politics. As a matter of fact thousands of migrant workers and employees of major corporations in Gujarat who hail from UP, Bihar and Odisha and have experienced benefits of Gujarat model firsthand became brand ambassador for Shri Narendra Modi in their respective states.

Shri Narendra Modi deserves praise for conceiving, planning and executing a superb campaign using all the tools available, be it the social media or Chai Pe Charcha. He has led from the front and enthused millions of volunteers across the globe to work for a clear majority for BJP and a formidable tally for NDA. He has turned every obstacle, every insult thrown at him into a formidable weapon, be it Chaiwala or Jehar ki Kheti (poison farming) or Nichee jati (lower caste.)

Under Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership, we look forward to a time when India will lead the world, not as a superpower but as a cultural Guru, where age old and time tested ethos of Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam (The whole universe is a family) and Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah (May all be happy) will lead to an era of cooperation instead of conflict and nations would compete to provide better living conditions to their citizens instead of stockpiling weapons in a game of one-upmanship.

Congratulations are also in order to the voters of India. They voted in big numbers. They voted judiciously and decisively. They voted for better future. This exhibits maturity of Indian electorate.

We at Global Indians for Bharat Vikas, a USA based international organization interested in the long term development of India with a Nationalist government at the helm are proud to have 1000+ volunteers across the globe who helped Shri Modi’s campaign in different ways. We will continue to help a government headed by Shri Narendra Modi by providing critical input on issues of importance to the nation.

We wish Narendrabhai Modi grand success as he sets out to tackle seemingly insurmountable problems of a weak economy, all pervading corruption, stagnant job market, instability, terrorism, etc. We feel proud that a giant of a Man , a visionary and a nationalist is going to be sworn in as the Prime Minister of India within a few days. Indeed, Better Days are Ahead.

The Swami Vivekananda’s Idea of India

THE SWAMI’S IDEA OF INDIA

Monday, 09 September 2013 | KG Suresh | in Oped
15

The common educated people of this country must raise their voice against fanatics, who are emboldened by the silence of the pseudo-secular intellectuals, the support of the vote-bank seeking political class and the crusades of a biased media

The country’s Left-wing intelligentsia and the so-called progressive media, which goes hammer and tongs every time any one talks of Sanskrit, Surya Namaskar, Vande Mataram or even Yoga, were strangely silent when a few days ago some Islamic radicals forced authorities at the Mahatma Gandhi University at Kottayam in Kerala to call off the inauguration of a Chair named after Swami Vivekananda, whose 150th birth anniversary the nation is celebrating.

The Chair is headed by Professor OM Mathew, a well known academic, who belongs to a Jewish family which subsequently converted to Christianity. The incident took place days ahead of the anniversary of the Monk’s address to the Chicago World Parliament of Religions, which catapulted Indian spirituality to the global arena.

Apart from the fact that Swamiji’s 150th birth centenary celebrations were inaugurated by none other than Prime Minister Manmohan Singh himself, the youth icon has never been viewed by any section of the society as a sectarian or divisive personality.

In fact, paying rich tribute to Swami Vivekananda, Mr Abdul Salam of Kerala’s Calicut University had recently written thus: “His remarkable speech at Chicago on September 11, 1893, is a call for tolerance and universal brotherhood — the enduring foundations on which the modern Indian nation is built.”

Therefore, the so-called ‘Muslim opposition’ to Swami Vivekananda is beyond comprehension, if one takes into account the latter’s famous letter, dated  June 10, 1898, written in Almora to Mohammed Sarfaraz Husain of Naini Tal.

“We want to lead mankind to the place where there is neither the Vedas, nor the Bible, nor the Koran; yet this has to be done by harmonising the Vedas, the Bible and the Koran. Mankind ought to be taught that religions are but the varied expressions of THE RELIGION, which is Oneness, so that each may choose that path that suits him best.

“For our own motherland, a junction of the two great systems, Hinduism and Islam — Vedanta brain and Islam body — is the only hope. I see in my mind’s eye the future perfect India rising out of this chaos and strife, glorious and invincible, with Vedanta brain and Islam body.”

The Swami had all along maintained that the only rational way to cope with differences was to accept them not only as inevitable but also as essential. “One must learn that truth may be expressed in a hundred thousand different ways, and that each of these ways is true as far as it goes. We must learn that the same thing can be viewed from a hundred different standpoints, and yet be the same thing…

“Suppose we all go with vessels in our hands to draw water from the lake. One has a cup,  another a jar, another a bucket, and so forth, and we all fill our vessels. The water in each case takes the form of the vessel carried by each of us, but in every case, water, and nothing but water is in the vessel… God is like that water filling these different vessels, and in each vessel, the vision of God comes in the form of the vessel. Yet He is One…”

Could there have been a more stronger message of universal harmony and brotherhood? Yet, there cannot be anything more unfortunate than the fact that such a protest took place in the highly literate State of Kerala, where the Swami had lit the first sparks of social reform.

Shocked by the untouchability and casteism during his visit to the southern State, Swami Vivekananda described its social condition as a “lunatic asylum”.

In the words of Justice VR Krishna Iyer, known for his Left leanings, “The outright condemnation of the deplorable social condition in Kerala expressed by Vivekananda luckily acted as a clarion call for reform for the succeeding generation of Kerala. The generation that succeeded, I must say, rose to the occasion and an era of social and spiritual reform followed…in one sense, the emergence of progressive classes and high level education in India and Kerala especially can be attributed to Swamiji’s powerful campaign which created new thinking.”

There is growing concern over the Islamic radicalisation in Kerala, where majority of the Muslims are not only educated and prosperous but also politically influential, unlike in many parts of the country. Led by the Popular Front of India, these radicalised youth have spread terror not only among the Hindus and Christians in the State but also among progressive members of the Muslim community. It was not long back that a bunch of PFI cadres chopped off the right palm of a college teacher TJ Joseph for setting a question paper that allegedly insulted the Prophet.

Recently, attempts were made to include in the Calicut University syllabus the poem Ode to the Sea by the Saudi-born poet and Al Qaeda’s Mufti Ibrahim Sulayman Muhammad Arbaysh alias Ibrahim al-Rubaish. However, good sense prevailed and following nationwide outrage, the university withdrew the move.

Forewarning about religious extremism, Swami Vivekananda had said, “The greatest harm comes from the fanatic. We may not doubt the sincerity of the fanatic but often he has the irresponsibility of a lunatic. The fanatic is the greatest enemy of mankind.”

The protests against the Vivekananda Chair was also in a way an attempt to tear apart the State’s secular fabric represented by academics such as Mr Mathew.

Mr Mathew, who was deeply influenced by the teachings of Ramakrishna Paramhamsa during his days as an intermediate student, epitomises the universal values of tolerance and pluralism.

In fact, he not only preaches but also practices the same in his personal life. When it came to naming his three sons, who are Jewish Rabbis, he combined the names of Hindu and Judaist historical personalities. Thus, Rabbi Akkibangiras, Rabbi Brighu Hillel and Rabbi Maimonides Kashyap, have names of Hindu sages and Jewish personalities. His granddaughter, Jessie Hellel, is a singing sensation in New Zealand.

Unfortunately, such saner voices are getting suppressed in an increasingly radicalised Kerala society. As the Vice-Chancellor of the Calicut University, Mr Abdul Salam aptly put it in an article on Swami Vivekananda published recently, “The ideas of Swami Vivekananda continue to guide our nation in many ways. I wish that this year of celebration of his 150th birth anniversary be an ideal time to re-look at his ideals in constituting an India that is tolerant and inclusive and at the same time vibrant and challenging.”

As we commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s 150th anniversary, there cannot be a more befitting tribute than working for realising his vision of a universal religion. As he famously stated, “but is there any way of practically working out this harmony in religions? …I have also my little plan…In the first place, I would ask mankind to recognise the maxim ‘Do not destroy’…iconoclastic religions do no good to this world…

“Given these cleavages, is the idea of the universal religion realistic or just idealistic? But behind all these differences, we must recognise a deeper level of commonality that suggests that the universal religion already exists, and is constantly evolving and taking clearer shape. No two persons are exactly alike, yet, despite these differences, there is a common thread of humanity.”

It is high time the common educated people of this country stand up and raise their voice against fanatics, who are emboldened by the silence of the pseudo-secular intellectuals, the support of the vote-bank seeking political class and the unidimensional crusades of a biased media. These fanatics pose a threat to the very idea of India.

NATO Prepares Global War – Russian and Chinese Military on Highest Alert

http://nsnbc.wordpress.com/2011/10/24/nato-prepares-global-war-russian-and-chinese-military-on-highest-alert/

Posted on October 24, 2011 by nsnbc

At the International Security Conference (ISC) in Munich, 2007, Vladimir Putin warned western leaders, that the unprecedented aggressive expansion of NATO has brought the world more close to a third world war than it has ever been before. This stern warning came years before NATO´s aggression against Libya and it´s undeclared war in Syria and Pakistan. Following the recent deployment of US troops to Uganda, and military threats directed against Pakistan, the armed forces of NATO, Russia and China have never been as close to open and all out conflict as today. A recent and sobering report of the Russian Intelligence Service FSB, details the fact that the USA and NATO are currently planning and actively preparing for all out war on all continents. After the recent meeting between Russian P.M. Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Huan Jintao, both Russian and Chinese military forces have been placed on highest alert.             By Dr. Christof Lehmann

The speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin at the 43rd International Security Conference in Munich in 2007, and Putin´s statement, that the aggressive expansionism of NATO has brought the world more close to a third world war than it has ever been before, was sobering in 2007. That an all out conflict has been prevented until now however, is not based on the fact that NATO has changed it´s aggressive policy of military expansionism. Putin´s speech from 2007 was sobering then, and few understood it´s full implications. The developments of recent months, however, are eliciting the urgent need to stop a cycle of aggression that can only be described as megalomaniacs insanity.

Since the middle of September 2011 Russian politicians at Russia´s State Duma began discussing that NATO must significantly reduce it´s military footprint in the former Soviet Republics. By early October, those calls had developed into demands that Russia should assert it´s interests in the former Soviet republics, and especially in the South. Since the discontinuation of the USSR, and NATO´s war on Afghanistan, it has significantly increased it´s military footprint in Russian and Chinese neighbor states such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and not least in Georgia. The fact that Russian and NATO troops came into open armed conflict when Georgi attacked Ossetia, and not least the US backed armed insurgency in Chechnya are eliciting the fact that Russia is increasingly threatened. A clear response by Vladimir Putin to the State Duma´s demands for policy changes came on 3 October, after Putin had received the sobering Intelligence Report, that warned of US and NATO preparations of a global war. On 3 October, only days before his meeting with Jintao, Putin announced his plans for a Eurasian Union.

When Russia´s Prime Minister, and most likely winner of the next presidential elections, Vladimir Putin, met Chinese President Huan Jintao on 12 October, the official narrative elicited mutually beneficial friendship and treaties, trade and other relations. The most important reason for the sudden visit however, did not make the headlines. Before leaving for Beijing, Putin received a sobering report from the Russian Intelligence Service FSB. The FSB report to Vladimir Putin supported reports from the Chinese Intelligence Service and China´s Ministry of State Security, MSS, which were among other based on intelligence received via the former Blackwater operative Brian Underwood. Underwood is currently held in the US on charges of espionage. According to reliable sources, China has attempted to warn Russia of US and NATO plans to initiate a global armed conflict. This conflict has reportedly moved from the drawing board to an activation stage.

According to both Chinese and Russian Intelligence Sources, the US and NATO plans include among other, the deliberate implosion of the US- and EU Economies, destroying the worlds financial systems, and the launching of a massive conventional war throughout North America, Africa and Asia, as well as the Middle East. The war plans include the release of biological warfare agents designed to kill millions if not billions of people. The NATO strategists rely on their ability to sue for peace when the coming conflict is at it´s highest, to call for the establishment of a “New World Order” under the pretext of preventing the destruction of the planet and civilization as we know it. One of the preparatory stages was reportedly doctrinal and strategy changes wherein the training of it´s soldiers shifted from counter insurgency to more conventional warfare and tank on tank battles.

The FSB Report states that the activation of the conflict is to be expected sooner rather than later, since the US and NATO have pre-deployed 2000  M1 Abrams Battle Tanks in Iraq, and another 2000 in Afghanistan. In the area between the Middle East and Asia, tens of thousands of other armored vehicles are deployed. The FSB evaluates the situation as so threatening, that it explains in it´s report, that the only thing needed to activate the war plan is a call for the full mobilization of 1.5 Million US Reserves. Their activation can come at moments notice, and needs no further authorization by the US Congress.

The US plans for global dominance date back to as early as 1998 and the “Project for a New American Century, PNAC. One of the think tanks members, former US Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, warned in September 2001, that if the war fails to significantly alter the worlds geopolitical map, the US will not achieve it´s aim to become the worlds only ad dominant superpower.

The war on Iraq was not only based on co-opting it´s oil. One of the main driving factors behind the decision to topple the Iraqi government was, that Iraq had begun trading the nations oil in Euro and not US-Dollar. The driving factors behind the aggression against Libya was the fact that Libya blocked for the development of the Mediterranean Alliance, lobbied for the establishment of a Pan-African, gold backed currency, and that it had supported the now ousted Laurent Gbagbo in Ivory Coast in his attempt to get Ivory Coast out of the CFA agreement. The CFA is a French Controlled currency used in eight African states, and France´s control over the CFA is one of the major supports of the French economy. The only country that so far has succeeded to withdraw from the US Dollar is Iran, that ended all trade of oil in US-Dollars in 2009. One of the reasons why Iran has not yet been attacked may be the fact that it has acquired a number of X-55 missiles with nuclear capabilities from the Ukraine. Russian Intelligence analysts how ever, generally perceive it as extremely unlikely that Ukraine did not deliver the nuclear warheads together with the missiles. Another reason why Iran has not yet been attacked may be it´s current support of NATO´s narrative of a popular revolution in Libya. Why precisely Iran is playing this dangerous diplomatic game is puzzling many analysts. It may be that Iran, knowing about the US and NATO war plans, would perceive the tying down of NATO forces in Northern Africa as a short lived insurance policy that can buy much needed time to prepare a defense against an anticipated attack.

Both China and Russia are outraged by NATO´s unprecedented abuse of UNSC Resolution 1973 and NATO´s war on Libya. Both the Russian and the Chinese veto of a resolution on Syria must be seen within the context of Russian and Chinese awareness of US and NATO plans to initiate a global war. The fact that the highest US Representative to the UN Susan Rice left the Security Counsel meeting in protest after the veto is not a sign of diplomacy being the modus for solving problems of global security either.

Recently the government of India agreed to let 20.000 Chinese troops to enter the Indian administrated part of Kashmirto counter the expected US and NATO aggression. Afghanistan has is signaling that it would be fighting along side Pakistan in case Pakistan would be attacked by the USA or NATO. Both China, Russia, Pakistan and Afghanistan discussed pressing security matters at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on 15 October. Most likely, the US and NATO preparations of an all out confrontation with Russia and China have been a central point of consideration in meetings behind the scenes. When the Russian Military was ordered on high alert, Vladimir Putin reportedly instructed high ranking military personnel to “Prepare for Armageddon“.

If the clock was 5 minutes to midnight in 2007, what time is it today. And will the people live up to their responsibility as citizens, to stop criminal governments. Failure to do so, may be failure to save ones own life and civilization as we know it.It is in deed high time that peace loving people throughout the world begin protesting against the mass murder that is planned against them, and support initiatives like those of former Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Tun Mahatir Muhammad, to criminalize war.

Who owns the media in India ? Muslims, Christians Or Hindus?

Need I say anything more?

SOME TIMES BY ; SANTOSH BHATT

Who owns the media in India ?

  • Let us see the ownership of different media agencies.
  • when i was in india and young journalist working for Goenka group and first time when people started talking about foreign investment i opposed it.
  •  I was against of any foreign investment due to this kind of long-term effects it will have on …country and mass..and Culture and Rape to the country by thoughts of bigots,.
  • NDTV: A very popular TV news media is funded by Gospels of Charity in Spain Supports Communism. Recently it has developed a soft corner towards Pakistanbecause Pakistan President has allowed only this channel to be aired in Pakistan .
  •  Indian CEO Prannoy Roy is co-brother of Prakash Karat, General Secretary of the Communist party of India . His wife and Brinda Karat are sisters.
  •  India Today which used to be the only national weekly which supported BJP is now bought by NDTV!! Since then the tone has changed drastically and turned into Hindu bashing.
  • CNN-IBN:This is 100 percent funded by Southern Baptist Church with its branches in all over the world with HQ in US. The Church annually allocates $800 million for promotion of its channel.
  • Its Indian head is Rajdeep Sardesai and his wife Sagarika Ghosh.
  • Times group list : Times Of India,  Mid-Day,  Nav-Bharth Times, Stardust, Femina, Vijay Times, Vijaya Karnataka, Times Now (24- hour news channel) and many more… Times Group is owned by Bennet & Coleman.   World Christian Council does 80 percent of the Funding, and an Englishman and an Italian equally share balance 20 percent.
  • The Italian Robertio Mindo is a close relative of Sonia Gandhi.
  •  Star TV:It is run by an Australian, who is supported by St. Peters Pontifical Church, Melbourne.
  • Hindustan Times: Owned by Birla Group, but hands have changed since Shobana Bhartiya took over. Presently it is working in Collaboration with Times Group.
  •  The Hindu: English daily, started over 125 years has been recently taken over by Joshua Society, Berne , Switzerland .. N. Ram’s wife is a Swiss national.
  • Indian Express: Divided into two groups. The Indian Express and new Indian Express (southern edition) ACTS Christian Ministries have a major stake in the Indian Express and latter is still with the Indian counterpart.
  •  Eeenadu: Still to date controlled by an Indian named Ramoji Rao. Ramoji Rao is connected with film industry and owns a huge studio in Andhra Pradesh.
  • Andhra Jyothi:The Muslim party of Hyderabad known as MIM along with a Congress Minister has purchased this Telugu daily very recently.
  •  The Statesman:It is controlled by Communist Party of India.
  •  Kairali TV: It is controlled by Communist party of India (Marxist)
  • Mathrubhoomi: Leaders of Muslim League and Communist leaders have major investment.
  •  Asian Age and Deccan Chronicle: are owned by a Saudi Arabian Company with its chief Editor M.J. Akbar. Gujarat riots which took place in 2002 where Hindus were burnt alive, Rajdeep Sirdesai and   Burkha Dutt working for NDTV at that time got around 5 Million Dollars from Saudi Arabia to cover only Muslim victims, which they did very faithfully…Not a single Hindu family was interviewed or shown on TV whose near and dear ones had been burnt alive, it is reported.
  •   Tehelka.com’s Tarun Tejpal  regularly gets blank cheques from Arab countries to target BJP and Hindus only, it is said.

The ownership explains the control of media in India by foreigners. The result is obvious.

When print media and TV continuously air systematic venom towards the same culture and country and dumb politicians and common man  are  blind to see the long-term effects of their actions, Hindus are bound to get demoralized and their young generation will grow up hating its own heritage and culture.

WHO OWNS INDIAN MEDIA? COMMUNISTS, CHRISTIANS or MUSLIMS?

Here is an eye-opening list of linkages of media people in India. As can be seen, it is an incestuous cabal of Communists, Christians and Muslims that is dominating Indian English Media. It is a closed group and Hindus are simply not welcome. Only in India with an 80 percent Hindu majority can this kind of nonsense be accepted by the majority.

Sandeep Pandey, Founder of Asha for Education, shows true colors

Sandeep Pandy has always been a suspect leftist. His outright denunciation of the nation-state and his discomfort at Jammu-Kashmir being part of Bharat put him squarely in the company of other traitors like Prashant Bhushan. We must be beware of Asha for Education, Sandeep Pandey’s creation that will eventually create thousands of zombies like Sandeep.

http://www.samachar.com/Activist-lambasts-Anna-Hazare-for-calling-JK-integral-part-of-India-lkriK9jdiji.html

Noted social activist and Magsaysay award winner Sandeep Pandey on Sunday lambasted Anna Hazare for calling Jammu and Kashmir as an integral part of India.

“Anna has been in military. If you serve in government and especially the armed forces obviously it will be difficult to overcome the feeling of nationalism”, Pandey said when asked about Anna’s statement.

“People like us who believe in Gandhian philosophy feel nationalism, caste, region or religion has divided people. Entire problem is about the concept of nation state. We have to get rid of this concept and have a world where there are no national boundaries”.

Medha Patkar, however, echoed view of Anna calling J&K as integral part of India.
