VHP of America Appeals for Relief Funds for Jammu & Kashmir

Namaste. You are all aware of very grim situation in Jammu & Kashmir where incessant rains and resultant floods have caused massive disaster. Hundreds of people have lost their lives and damage to property is incalculable. Many villages have been washed away and several houses in Srinagar and Jammu have collapsed. VHP of America makes you an appeal to make a generous, tax deductible (in USA) contribution to help the victims of this natural disaster.

Donations to help the victims of Floods in Kashmir, India

Jammu Kashmir Floods The flood situation has worsened in Jammu and Kashmir (September 7^th, 2014) as more areas have submerged in the waters leaving a trail of death and destruction. The death toll has reached 160 due to floods in Jammu-Kashmir area. Thousands of families are still stranded and awaiting help in their homes across the valley. South Kashmir districts are the worst hit by the catastrophe with many areas still cut off from the headquarters. Over 30 per cent of capital Srinagar city is under flood waters. Over 1Million population is affected in Jammu division. Jammu city has been cut off from Pathankote after authorities closed down the three important bridges on Tawi. The fourth bridge on Tawi has been damaged due to gushing waters. Indian army has pressed 103 columns into service to help in rescue and relief of the people affected by the worst ever floods in Jammu and Kashmir. A total of 11,000 civilians have been rescued so far. 2000 civilians have been provided food and temporary shelters.

VHP of America requests your kind contribution to help the victims and their family who are affected by this devastation. VHP of America will work with appropriate agency to ensure that the donated funds only be used to help the victims of this natural disaster.
